Since it’s beginning in 1910, it has always been of service to the community, as a hospital, rest home, day care, boarding house, & now, a beautiful bed & breakfast. In addition, Robbie’s personal passion for the garden has resulted in a lush landscape where before there was nothing but parched earth. Today, people make walking or detouring in their car by the gardens, part of their routine.

Therefore, we feel like we have accomplished our goals. While we enjoy meeting all the interesting people who come and stay with us, we are not by profession, innkeepers, but dream builders. We are ready to move on to another project.

A second factor is we are beginning to experience some health issues that make the physical part of running this business, including the number of stairs climbed in a day, harder to do. We need to spend more time focusing on our personal health.

And lastly, we are older parents, and want to take our daughter back out on some more adventures before she starts college and we get too old for the more vigorous & demanding aspects of traveling. All of these are very hard to accomplish while running a time intensive business like the Hotel.

So the results of the above, is the offering of our creation to the next people who are looking for a fun, interactive, turnkey business in a gorgeous valley, full of friendly people who take the time to talk to each other. We have been wonderfully supported by the local business community and residents during our 7 years. We have given back to the community as well by offering our lawn for fund raising events for the Stevensville Main Street Association, volunteering in civic organizations, and supporting many of the other organizations in town by donating a room night to their auctions. We hope that the new owners will follow in our footsteps, embracing the home town charm and community togetherness that is Stevensville.

Fifth Street Motel Property

During the process of creating the new Hotel, we kept getting calls for inexpensive weekly rentals. A property 2 blocks south of the hotel became available 4 years ago with a 4,000 + Sq. ft. building originally conceived as an extended care facility. With 11 bedrooms and 4 baths, it seemed perfect for the weekly patrons. Also on the property was a smaller house that we converted into 2, 1-bedroom apartments.
